Tucked beneath the graceful arches of the historic Mission San Gabriel shopping district there is a fabulous hidden gem of a cafe called Alexandra’s Table. The owner, Alexandra Poer Sheridan, opened her cafe and catering business there in February 2012, but her history as a chef goes back to 1993 when she returned to the US after living in Paris.

A self-taught cook, Alexandra worked at the beloved Julienne Restaurant in San Marino, CA, which led her to working as a pastry chef in a variety of fine Southern California restaurants.

In 2000 Alexandra left the restaurant business to work as a private chef for a family. This allowed her to work weekends for local LA based catering companies and it wasn’t long before she had cultivated her own catering clientele.
In 2003 Alexandra had her daughter, Talulla, and as she balanced motherhood with cooking her catering business continued to thrive and grow.

She moved from a shared kitchen in Altadena in 2011 to a her own space in the Mission District of San Gabriel. In 2012 her cafe Alexandra’s Table opened to the public.

Her food is fresh and original, and she is committed to a menu using only the finest local seasonal ingredients.

Alexandra’s Table offers a combination of hand-selected boutique gifts, her amazing lunch menu, and a catering kitchen where both ideas and appetites are fed and nurtured.
